In solidarity with the National COVID-19 Vaccine Plan carried out by the Ministry of Health, which aims to educate citizens and residents about the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine to limit the spread of the virus, and under the slogan, “Take the Step_Take the Vaccine”, the Vice Deanship of the College of Medicine (female section), on 30 March 2021 A.C., activated the “Community Immunity Campaign”. The campaign was led by the Vice Dean of the College and Assistant Professor of Clinical Immunology, Dr. Aminah bint Abdullah Al-Otaibi, with the participation of Ms. Nabila Al-Bar, Ms. Fatima Hariri, Ms. Hanan Jawa, Ms. Hana Al-Hatirshi, Ms. Afaf Al-Daadi, and Ms. Zainab Hattan.
The campaign left the positive impact of motivating a number of female employees and their families to take the vaccine and achieving the goal of community immunity. The campaign includes the following:
Community Immunity Wall: Share with Us Your Experience. This is an interactive wall on which motivational phrases are written after receiving the vaccine or a photo of the vaccine center is placed.
Awareness Wall entitled: “New Vaccines Are Hopes Spoiled by Rumors and Fear”. The wall contains educational posters about the vaccine, facts about some rumors, as well as the barcode of the “Have a Healthy Life” guide issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health, which contains information about the vaccine.
Floor stickers reading, “I Took the Step”, and “I Took the Vaccine”, on the college entrances to the buildings of the College of Medicine (female section), Medicine Headquarters 1, 3, and 5, to motivate and remind the headquarters’ visitors of the importance of taking the step and taking the vaccine.
Based on the last survey conducted by the Vice Deanship of the College of Medicine on 21 May 2021 A.C. counting the number of immunized persons, after activating the Community Immunity Campaign, it was found that (33) out of (35) administrative and technical staff members and university security have been immunized, praise be to Allah.
