An awareness and educational campaign was launched by the Department of Health Education and Promotion (girls section) of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics at the Umm Al-Qura University on Thursday 10-6-1438H/9-3-2017 at the premises of the female students of medical colleges in Abidya.
The campaign was launched under the title “How sports contributes in boosting functions of body organs”.
The campaign aims to achieve numerous goals, including raising awareness about the importance of sports and its usefulness for the body organs, correcting misconceptions about practicing sports, enhancing and encouraging the practice of all kinds of healthy sports, encouraging those targeted on following a positive sports behavior as a daily routine and integrating sports among the daily activities for individuals.
Female students of the Department of Health Eduation and Promotion gave a lecture about the importance of sports in our life and its impact on the body health. The lecture was delivered under the supervision of Dr Layla Sulaiman Abdul-Rahman. Some sport shows were displayed during the lecture and leaflets and gifts were distributed among participants.
Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, His Excellency Dr Wahib bin Dakhilullah al-Harbi, pointed out that the awareness campaigns launched by the college emanate from its belief in serving the community and providing it with health education, with the full support from President of the Umm Al-Qura University Dr Bakri bin Ma’atoq Assas.
