The Head of the Department of Planning, Training and Scientific Research under the Laboratories Department, Blood Banks Department and the Regional Laboratory in the Department of Health in Makkah, the Senior Specialist Kamal Habib Al-Zubaidi, visited the College of Public Health and Health Informatics at Umm Al-Qura University on Monday, 7 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1442 A.H., corresponding to 23 November, 2020 A.C. He was received by His Excellency the Vice Dean for Hospital Affairs, Dr. Baraa Sami Qurunfulah, His Excellency the Head of the Department of Environmental Health, Dr. Hatem Maatouq Badri, as well as Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Salam and Dr. Ramadan Badran from the Department of Environmental Health.

The visit came within the framework of joint cooperation of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics with the Regional Laboratory at the Department of Health in Makkah. During the visit, they discussed ways of cooperation between the two sides with regard to training college internship students, especially the students of the Department of Environmental Health in the Regional Laboratory in Makkah. The parties reviewed the detailed plan submitted by Mr. Kamal Al-Zubaidi and the discussions he had with the college on his suggestions in order to start receiving students during the current year.

The plan aims to train and prepare students to play their role, link the academic study with the actual practical fields, and provide them with the required practical experiences and skills. This is in order for the students to be able to properly perform the duties of their future jobs.

Discussions also dealt with the possibility of cooperation in the field of qualitative and quantitative research and increasing the quality of research presented in the fields of public health by the academic staff members of the college and the employees of the regional laboratory.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Baraa Qurunfulah thanked Mr. Kamal Al-Zubaidi for the kind visit.
