The UQU College of Public Health and Health Informatics, represented by the Epidemiology Department, participated in an awareness exhibition on the importance of combating infection and increasing the practice of handwashing, which was by organized by the University Medical Center at its headquarters in Al-Aziziyyah. The awareness exhibition carried the slogan of "Rub Your Hands Together",، and was held on Wednesday, 17 Safar 1441 A.H., corresponding to 16 October 2019 A.C. It consisted of four thematic introductory sections: handwashing, correct methods of using antibiotics, dealing with spilled fluids in health facilities, and acupuncture. The exhibition also highlighted the role of the health personnel at the University Medical Center in controlling infection.

The organization of this event coincided with the international infection prevention day, "Global Handwashing Day", and aimed at raising awareness about the role of health care professionals in fighting infection. The exhibition was attended by the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz Suruji, the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, Dr. Ahmad ibn Omar Babalgith, and the Director of the University Medical Center, Dr. Yassir Bahakim.

On his part, His Excellency the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalghith, stressed the importance of cooperative partnerships that aim at increasing community awareness.
