On Wednesday, 27 Rajab, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 3 April, 2019 A.C., the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, represented by the Department of Health Education and Promotion, organized an awareness and educational campaign. The campaign was held in partnership with Hira General Hospital, and addressed topics on diabetes, hypertension and obesity, and their impact on human health. The campaign was held at the Palestine Secondary School for Boys in Jamoum in the presence of His Excellency the School Principal, Mr. Muslih Al-Lihaibi. The event included a lecture on the risks of diabetes, presented by Dr. Hamid Al-Sahafi, the Director of the Diabetes Center at Hira General Hospital, in addition to a discussion session and dialogue on heart disease, obesity, and an unhealthy lifestyle and its relationship to diabetes. His Excellency Dr. Salah Al-Din Muhammad Alawnah participated in the event, as well as His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Osama Nur of the Department of Health Education and Promotion at the College of Public Health and Health Informatics. His Excellency the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalgaith, pointed out the significance of the role of the college in spreading a healthy culture by holding these community events that aim at raising the awareness of the individual and society. This will reduce the risks of many diseases, and fulfill the Saudi Vision 2030.
