The College of Public Health and Health Informatics participates with the Maternity and Children's Hospital in the activities of checking newborns early to limit disabilities, and the World Day of Chronic Diseases. The activities were held uder the patronage of the Health Affairs Manager at Makkah Province, Dr. Wa'il bin Hamzah Mutair. The Assistant General Manager for Medical Services, Dr. Hatim Khuqir, attended the activities on behalf of Dr. Wa`il Mutair.
The activities began on Thursday, 28 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 6 December, 2018 A.C., at Hijaz Mall in Makkah. The activities lasted for four days and were concluded in the Maternity and Children's Hospital on Sunday, 2 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1440 A.H. They contained educative lectures and an exhibition that included several partitions relating to heredity diseases. Dr. Muhannad Qarub, Dr. Salah Al-Din Muhammad Alawana, Dr. Muhammad Usamah Nour, Dr. Iman Abu Sir, Dr. Layla Sulaiman Al-Fakki and 32 female students at the College of Public Health and Health Informatics participated in the activities.
His Excellency the Assistant General Manager for Medical Services, Hatim Khuqir, and His Excellency the Manager of the Maternity and Children's Hospital, Dr. Ahmad Ghayth Al-Mihmadi, praised the role of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics at Umm Al-Qura University in rendering the activities successful, and for its tangible efforts in serving the community.
On his part, His Excellency the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalghith, pointed out the importance of the cooperative partnerships with the different medical sectors that aim at increasing community awareness of many diseases, especially those which are hereditary.
