The College of Public Health Participates with King Abdullah Medical City in the Celebration of the International Volunteer Day

The UQU College of Public Health and Health Informatics (male and female sections) participated with the King Abdullah Medical City in the celebration of the International Volunteer Day, as part of a voluntary initiative entitled "My Eyes", which is concerned with examining primary school children's eyes. This initiative was held in coordination with the General Directorate of Education in Makkah, and with the participation of 100 volunteers from among the students of the UQU College of Public Health and Health Informatics. It was held according to the directives of His Excellency the Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalgith, and under the supervision of His Excellency Dr. Muhannad Qarub, His Excellency Dr. Salahuddin Muhammad Ilwanah, and Mr. Khalid Al-Hasani from the College of Public Health and Health Informatics.

The 'My Eyes' initiative was held on Wednesday, 24 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 5 December, 2018 A.C. It conducted eye examinations for more than 1000 students in different primary schools in Makkah using the Auto Refractometer. This initiative also aimed to educate the students and disseminate awareness about eye diseases and their effect on the students' academic achievement.
