At Zaid bin Al-Khattab Intermediate School in Makkah Education Directory, a workshop entitled, “Introduction to Prevention and First Aid” was held on Wednesday, 9th Shaaban 1439H at 10:00-11:00am. The workshop was organized by the College of Public Health and Health Informatics out of the principles of community service and continuing education, and activation of a nonprofit community partnership with Makkah Education Directory. The young-first-aid-worker workshop was presented by Dr. Ubaidullah bin Hamid Al-Lehiany, Basic Trainer of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid.
The workshop aimed to raise preventive awareness within the school environment through the concept and types of prevention. It also aimed to apply the concept of occupational risk identification through a student workshop using a designed model. Moreover, it was held to highlight the significance of preventive measures to address some risks in the school environment, introduce the first aid kit, and train the attendees to treat a fainting case and remove a foreign body from the airway of an adult.
At the end of the workshop, Mr. Turki Al-Hazemy, School Leader, extended thanks to Dr. Waheeb bin Dakhilullah Al-Harby, Dean of the Health College, and to Dr. Ubaidullah Al-Lehiany. This was due their fruitful cooperation to build and develop the knowledge of students and raise the level of their first aid skills to serve their families and communities.
