Health College Conducts a Course at Al-Imam Al-Baihaqi Secondary School in Makkah: An Introduction to Prevention and First Aid

Based on the principle of community service and continuous education and in order to put into effect the nonprofit community partnership contract with the Education Administration, the College of Public Health and Health Informatics conducted a course entitled “An Introduction to Prevention and First Aid,” on Tuesday, Jumada Al-Thani 25, 1439 AH, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at Al-Imam Al-Baihaqi Secondary School, Makkah Education Administration.

The course was given by His Excellency Dr. Obaidullah bin Humaid Al-Lehyani, Trainer of Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid, with the participation of the students from the Health Committee of the College’s Student Club: Loay Al-Jandali, Abdulqader Baqader, and Fahad Ammash.

The course aimed at increasing preventive awareness in the school environment through the concept of prevention and its types; applying the notion of defining occupational risks through a student workshop using a model prepared for this purpose; highlighting the importance of the preventive measures for handling some risks in the school environment; introducing the first aid kit; and providing training on how to deal with cases of fainting and how to remove a foreign body from the respiratory tract in adults.

At the end of the course, Mr. Nabeel Al-Qahtani, Leader of the School, thanked His Excellency Dr. Waheeb bin Dakheelullah Al-Harbi, Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, and His Excellency Dr. Obaidullah bin Humaid Al-Lehyani for such fruitful cooperation in building and developing the knowledge of our dear students and enhancing their paramedical skills for serving their families and communities. The course was attended by His Excellency Lecturer Tabreez Ouzman, Faculty Member at the Department of Health Information Management and Technology.
