College of Public Health and Health Informatics with its male and female sections celebrated the International Volunteer Day (IVD) with the King Abdullah Medical City in coordination with the Deanship of Students Affairs by organizing two awareness campaign under the themes of "a paramedic in our home "and "the proper way to wash your hands and prevent germs" under the directives of the Dean of College of Public Health and Health Informatics Dr. Waheeb bin Dhakhilullah Al-Harbi on Tuesday and Wednesday Rabi Al-Awal 17-18, 1439 H corresponding to 5-6 December 2017. The campaigns took place in the different colleges of the university in the presence of the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas who lauded the efforts exerted by the College of Public Health and Health Informatics and its effective role in serving the community whereas the 140 male and female students from the different departments of the college and the student club participated in the two events under the supervision of Dr. Salahulddin Mohamed Alawna, Mr. Khalid Al-Hassani, the Vice Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Infromatics for Educational Affairs, females section Dr. Mashail Al-Faifi, Dr. Laila Suleiman Al-Fakki and Dr. Eman AboSeer.
The program included proving awareness lectures to the student community on the basics of the first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation besides the importance of Handwashing and the proper way of hand washing and germs prevention. Awareness Brochures and leaflets were distributed to the attendees in addition to the bactericidal sterilizers.
