Public Health College Cooperates with Education Directorate in Mecca in Awareness Campaign on (Diabetes) & (Obesity)

The College of Public Health and Health Informatics (M/F students), along with the Directorate of Education in Mecca, participated in an awareness campaign on diabetes and obesity on Tuesday, 17/3/1439 AH, corresponding to 5/12/2017, at Ash Shara'i` market; under the direct supervision of the dean of the College, Dr. Waheeb bin Dakheelullah Al-Harbi.

Believing in the college’s role in serving the society, the college was keen to participate in this campaign in order to eliminate the spread of many diseases. The program included educating the market’s visitors about diabetes and its relation to obesity, then conducting a blood sugar test for them, and distributing awareness leaflets on diabetes and obesity. In addition to that, they distributed some simple gifts to visitors. The participants in this campaign were: Dr. Salah Al-Din Mohammed Alawneh, Dr. Mohammed Osama Noor, Dr. Fawzi Omar Al-Ameen, Dr. Laila Sulaiman Al-Faki- they are from the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, and a number of the college’s students and the student club.

At the end of the meeting, the College of Public Health and Health Informatics was honored with a shield from the Education Directorate in Mecca, in addition to certificates of thanks and appreciation to the participants in the program.
