The College of Public Health and Health Informatics for the Girls Section held a scientific lecture on Thursday 29 Muharram 1439AH, corresponding with 19 October 2017, titled “Academic Direction and Guidance and its Impact on the Educational Process”.
The lecture was delivered by Associate Professor at the Department of Health Awareness and Promotion and the Academic Coordinator in the College, Dr. Salah Al-din Mohamed Alawana, in the presence of the Vice Dean of the College for Academic Affairs at the Girls Section, Dr. Masha’el Al-Fifi, and all faculty members at the college.
The lecture included an introduction to the academic direction and guidance, as well as its objectives and its program which includes five main fields: educational guidance, moral guidance, psychological guidance, professional guidance, and preventive guidance. The lecture also included an introduction to the tasks of an Academic Supervisor, and the moral code of direction and guidance.
As the lecture came to a close, the lecturer explained the impact of direction and academic guidance on students and their academic achievement as well as the educational process.
The Dean of Public Health and Health Informatics College, Dr. Wahib bin Dakhil-Allah Al-Harby, noted that the goal of holding this lecture is activating the role of academic guidance in the educational process, which, in turn, leaves a positive impact on students and their academic level.
