 Introductory Meeting for New Female Students by Public Health College

On behalf of Dr. Waheeb bin Dakhilullah Al-Harbi (Dean of the College of Public Health and Health Informatics), Dr. Mashael Al-Fifi (Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, Girls Section) inaugurated the introductory meeting for new female students on Thursday, 8th Muharram 1439H (28th September 2017). In her opening speech, Dr. Mashael Al-Fifi welcomed the attendees; she also talked about the various departments of the College and the rights and duties of female students. Moreover, she listed some details such as deprivation, absence, attendance, departure, postponement, apology and general appearance within the College.

Then, Dr. Tasneem Sanki, from the Department of Health Education and Promotion, gave a speech about the significance of public health and its role in disease control, in addition to the importance of community awareness and the way to maintain health and enhance immunity. Afterwards, Dr. Iman Abo-Sayr, Lecturer at the Department of Epidemiology, gave a speech titled, “But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you” in which she spoke about her personal experience in obtaining her scientific degree as a scholar. She added that she faced difficulties but could overcome them with the help of Allah, to provide an example of perseverance and hope in achieving goals. The attendees were then divided into two groups: Management and Information Technology, and Health Education and Promotion. In other words, students of the higher grades of each department introduced the new students to the specialization, its objectives and mission, the domains and characteristics of work, as well as their own personal experiences. Upon this, new students went enthusiastic.   

At the end of the meeting, the Vice-Dean thanked all the attendees for their presence on such day, especially the organizers of the event, as well as the staff members and employees.
