The importance of scientific research:

Scientific research is very important in modern times. This importance stems primarily from the fact that the path of scientific research has proven to be the best solution to scientific and societal problems. The study of a random sample of a community or the study of a question in a scientific area may have applications to this community that benefit humanity and the scientific community. The relationship between countries and research institutions in the scientific research field is one of the most important reasons for the flourishing of scientific research in the modern era.

Also, the process of producing, graduating, training, and qualifying a generation of researchers, scientists, and inventors has directly contributed to enriching the scientific movement and increasing interest in this area. Supporting scientific and practical approaches that serve development in general, and sustainable development in particular, is one of the real reasons for the flourishing of the scientific and research movement and increasing interest in it.

The process of transforming scientific research into an important knowledge and economic product has contributed significantly to increasing the research culture and the ways to benefit from it.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers two postgraduate programs for master's and doctoral degrees.

Admission Requirements:

  1. Admission requirements for the program as stipulated in Articles 13 to 15 of the Unified Regulations for Postgraduate Studies of Saudi Universities and the Executive Rules at Umm Al-Qura University, and any other rules (regarding English language and the National Center for Measurement score) are subsequently attached by the University Council.
  2. Pursuant to Article 18 of the Unified Regulations for Graduate Studies at Universities in Saudi Arabia, the Mathematical Science Department requires:
  1. The candidate's bachelor's degree plan must correspond to the requirements of the bachelor's degree study plan in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University.
  2. If the previous condition is not met, the candidate must pass some supplementary courses that are determined by the Postgraduate Committee in the department, from the courses of the study plan for the bachelor's degree in the department. The candidate must successfully pass these courses in no more than three semesters. These courses must be evaluated in accordance with Article 18 of the Unified Regulations for Postgraduate Studies at Universities in Saudi Arabia.
  1. Postponement, deletion, withdrawal, any other cases, and additional opportunities are all as provided in Articles 21-31 of the Unified Regulations for Postgraduate Studies in Universities and their Executive Rules at Umm Al Qura University.
