The Department of English at Al-Leith University College held a workshop on the IELTS test for the benefit of the graduates of the academic departments of the college. It was a two-part workshop, held on Wednesday and Thursday, 3 and 4 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1442 A.H.
The first part focused on how to develop reading and writing skills for the test, to gain insight into the necessary strategies needed and practice them in preparation for the test. This is in order to obtain the highest possible score in these two respective sections.
The second part of the course focused on the skills of speaking and listening and how to handle them as oral parts of the language, which makes the mechanism of dealing with them different from that of the previous two skills.
This course, in its two parts, was supervised by Mr. Ahmad Hajjo, a lecturer in the department, in coordination with the Head of the Department, His Excellency Dr. Makhlad bin Awaid Al-Saeedi, as well as the Coordinator of the Graduate Office at the college, Mr. Badr Al-Otaibi.
At the end, the floor was given to the participants for them to ask questions. The attending students also thanked the Department of English and all its officials for organizing this workshop due to its utmost importance in helping students achieve higher scores in the IELTS test, which is a prerequisite for obtaining admission to study in international universities.
