The College of Public Health and Health Informatics held an awareness campaign, in cooperation with the Armed Forces Health Center in Makkah, on Sunday, 4 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 1 December, 2019 A.C. The campaign included two corners:
The first corner was an awareness corner about psychological tension, which included an explanation of the causes of psychological tension, who are most vulnerable to it, how to prevent it, and the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyle patterns. Awareness bulletins were distributed at the corner, along with healthy food to get rid of tension and symbolic gifts for the audience.
The second corner included an explanation of the causes and types of diabetes, who are most vulnerable to it, risk factors and complications, how to prevent it, and the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyle patterns. Awareness brochures about the disease were distributed at the corner, diabetic patients were given some suitable healthy food, and the audience were offered symbolic gifts. The day was supervised by Dr. Laila Sulaiman.
The campaign was organized due to the belief that the college should serve the community and increase health awareness of the Saudi community in general, and all categories of the Makkah community in particular.
