The College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture extends sincere congratulations to Dr. Muhammad Hassan, the academic staff at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, for Springer, one of the world's largest publishing companies, publishing one of his research projects in the field of energy as one chapter in one of their books. The book is entitled: "Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering".

The published chapter discusses methods to improve the efficiency of a turbine used to transform seawater energy into electrical energy. It also includes a redesign of the blades in order to minimize the possibility of flow separation during energy conversion.
