The Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture at Umm Al-Qura University has participated in a specialized workshop in the field of educational transportation and the regulations of safety and security for various modes of transport. The workshop was held in Riyadh and was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Muhammad Al-Asimi, in Riyadh.
The Department of Engineering was represented by Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Saif, Associate Professor of Transportation and Traffic Engineering and Dr. Hassan bin Yousef Tayyib, Assistant Professor of Transportation and Traffic Engineering. The workshop came up with many recommendations for the security and safety of school transportation, in addition to the use of alternate means of transportation, such as bicycles.
The Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Alawi, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ahmad bin Nayif Al-Ahmadi, expressed appreciation for such active participation. They prayed for Allah to grant everyone success.
