    Duties of the Committee

    1. Spreading the culture of quality in the department.
    2. Supervising the department's strategic plan and following up its implementation.
    3. Proposing development plans for the department.
    4. Implementing and following up the activities of academic evaluation and accreditation in the department.
    5. Proposing the objectives and outputs of education for the various programs of the department (bachelor's, master's), as well as proposing ways and means to achieve those goals, and different assessment methods to measure the efficiency of outputs and the extent to which these objectives are achieved.
    6. Supervising the preparation and processing of course files so that each file contains:
    • The CV of the faculty member.
    • A copy of the certificates of appreciation and teaching excellence awards.
    • Course description in Arabic and English, according to the National Center for Academic Assessment and Accreditation.
    • Sample of previous exam questions.
    • Sample papers of students' answers, at different levels.
    1. Identifying possible areas of improvement, and proposing projects to achieve them at the department level.
    2. Preparation of the department booklets, manuals, and manuals for the department, as well as introductory bulletins in the department, job opportunities, and study plans.
    3. Receiving teams of academic accreditation bodies from outside the university and quality committees from within the university who make visits to the department from time to time.
    4. Encouraging members of the department to propose projects, and assist them in activating these proposals.
    5. Supervising the process of self-evaluation of the various programs of the department, and preparing self-study reports for academic programs.
    6. Contributing in collaboration with the Quality Unit in the college to spread the culture of quality and academic accreditation, organizing instructive lectures, workshops, the Quality Week and academic accreditation events, and attending these events.
    7. Documenting the efforts and results of the academic accreditation procedures in the department, and submitting them to the head of the department.
    8. Continuously collecting data and information on academic accreditation requirements and quality activities, and applying them in the department.
    9. Preparing periodic reports on the performance levels in the department and how satisfied the beneficiaries are with each activity.
    10. Holding regular meetings to discuss how to meet the requirements for accreditation of academic programs.
    11. Preparing academic program description files.
    12. Carrying out other tasks assigned to the committee in relation to academic accreditation and quality and development activities and their applications.

    6. Supervising any activities related to community service, such as education, training, scientific consultation, etc.
