The Unit is concerned with conducting research and studies monitoring patterns, characteristics and features of pilgrims and Umrah doers and the extent of behavioral and social variations and the collective interaction during Haj and Umrah seasons and assessment required for social services provided for pilgrims.
The unit also studies the different phenomena associated with the arrival of different groups of pilgrims and Umrah doers and their positive and negative impacts on the Hajj and Umrah systems so as to adopt the positive ones including cooperation, participation and avoid the negative ones including sleeping on the roads, begging, theft, wilderness and crowds during circumambulation of the Ka'ba (Tawaf), walking between Safa and Marwa (Sa'i), and stoning (Rajm).
