Academic Advising

Academic Advising is one of the most important guiding programs that the Electrical Engineering Department intends to activate and develop. The new mechanism saves time and effort for registration and enables students to know their majors, academic plans and admission requirements. In addition, academic advising aims at discussing academic problems of failed students to solve their problems.

Registration & Course Schedule Modification

All students must review their course schedules online and have a copy of the same. Students must, if necessary, modify their course schedules online at such date specified and announced on the website of the Deanship of Admission and Registration.

If modification is not available online or if a student is unable to complete minimum required credit hours (12 H), they must take the following procedures for registration completion:

First: Registration of the Department Courses:

  1. Apply to the academic advisor and present an updated copy of the course schedule to discuss required modifications.
  2. The academic advisor will, together with the student, fill in the “The advising and schedule modification” forms (1) and (2) with all required data and modifications in limit of applicable academic load.
  3. The academic advisor will keep the “the advising and schedule modification” form and perform required modifications, as much as possible, according to discussions made with the student.
  4. An applicant must follow-up addition, removal or divisions modification online and contacts the academic advisor in case of delay.

Second: Registration of Courses given by other Departments:

  1. The student obtains the appropriate form for addition, removal or modification of courses given by other departments.
  2. The student completes/fills the appropriate form with his advisor, then, he shall stamp it in the department office.
  3. The student delivers, in person, the completed stamped form to the relevant department for completing required procedures.
