Educational Objectives of the Program

The Electrical Engineering Program offers excellent education and offers an academic program that provides a sound foundation in mathematics, science, and engineering, as well as competencies in a broad spectrum of electrical engineering areas of specialty such as Electrical Power Engineering and Electronics & Communications Engineering by:

  • incorporating an effective laboratory practical experience in selected courses including computer designs, testing and simulating applications, modern measuring devices for platform designing, testing and development.
  • Integrating general competencies such as: written and oral communication, critical thinking & decision making, problem-solving, ethics, and teamwork skills in engineering and other general & applied sciences courses. 
  • This also covers implementation of graduation projects and helping students to gain major design experience based on the knowledge and skills acquired in earlier courses under various engineering standards.

The course is meant to prepare students to be successful professionals in their fields and achieve Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) as per the EE program and the UQU mission.

The program qualifies students in the fields:

Engineering Knowledge & Professional Practice:

To play a leading role in engineering careers and perform innovative research

Active Member in Working & Continuing Learning Teams:

To utilize appropriate knowledge, experience and skills to function effectively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to the changes in engineering practices and environments throughout their careers.

Citizenship and Engineering:

To apply modern electrical engineering design principles within the societal, ethical, environmental, safety, and economic constraints, and progress in their professional responsibilities in accordance with the Islamic values.
