To be one of the leading Laboratory Medicine programs at the national and regional levels with recognition of our graduates for their leadership and professional competence and recognition of our faculty as an outstanding and competitive research facility and as an expert provider of society services in the region.
Overview
Laboratories Medical Program at the College provides the only specialization of medical laboratories. In this specialization, the student is responsible for selecting and conducting the proper diagnostic analyses to contribute to preventing against diseases, contribute to treatment as well and to verify the results of analyses, link them to the health condition, improve and develop the tests and analyses conducted by the laboratory.
The responsibilities of the graduate of Medical Laboratories Program are to manage a laboratory, lay down its organizational structure as well as assure the quality of the laboratory.
Students study for four academic years in and spend one year of internship in this major where they completes academic courses totaling 132 credits,. over four full academic years plus the year of internship. Eighteen (18) classes of male students and four (4) classes of female students graduated from the Medical Laboratories Program till 1427 A.H. In 1436 A.H., the Program was internationally accredited by the German Accreditation Agency (AHPGS), which evidences that the Program is in conformity with the international requirements and standards in the academic process and to boost the trust of the international community in the graduates of the Medical Laboratories Program. This will also positively support the future career of the Program graduates.
Objectives

Provide in-depth knowledge of the relationships between laboratory data and pathologic processes, and how laboratory data relate to health and disease.
2. Equip the graduate with the necessary skills to perform routine lab tests and specialized medical laboratory investigations following the lab regulation related to quality and safety.
3. Build a qualified medical laboratory specialist who carry the responsibility for continuous learning, self-development and decision making.
4. Develop the responsibility towards serving Makkah community with its special needs regarding the flow of visitors and Haj.
5. Share in scientific research based on his/her practical and scientific skills.

To graduate Medical Laboratory Sciences specialists who meet the proficiency standards, able to join the health care field with the theoretical knowledge and the technical skills necessary to provide higher quality laboratory services contributing to scientific research and community services.
