This specialization is responsible for selecting and conducting appropriate diagnostic analyses to contribute to the prevention of diseases and to its treatment. Furthermore, it undertakes the verification of test results and links them to the patient, and also improves and develops the tests and analyses carried out by the laboratory. Among the responsibilities of the graduates of the laboratory medicine program is to manage laboratories, developing their organizational structure and ensuring the quality of the laboratory.
The duration of study in this specialization is four academic years, in addition to the internship year. The student studies a total number of one hundred and thirty-two credits (132 M) in the four full academic years and the internship year.

B- The student must complete the graduation requirements within a maximum period of time between the minimum and maximum stay in the college. C- The student must have studied at the university from which s\he will graduate at least 60% of the graduation requirements.
The second honors degree is awarded to students who obtain a GPA between (3.25) to less than (3.75) out of (4.00) upon graduation. The following conditions should also be fulfilled: the student must not have failed any courses at Umm Al-Qura University or any other university. The student must complete the graduation requirements in a maximum time span equal to the average between the minimum and the maximum time of study at their college. The student must have studied at least 60% of the graduation requirements at the university from which they will graduate.
