Volunteering Entities

2. The Voluntary Work Administration at Umm Al-Qura University: It is affiliated to the Vice Deanship for Academic Development and Community Service, and reports directly to it.

3. The Voluntary Work Unit at the College of Arabic Language and Literature.

The UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, issued a decision dated 7 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., appointing Dr. Muhammad bin Salih Barnawi as the supervisor of the volunteer work in the college.

The Dean of the College of Arabic Language also issued a decision dated 2 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1442 A.H., according to the report submitted to him by the Vice Dean of the College for Academic Development and Entrepreneurship, launching the Voluntary Work Unit to record the volunteering work of all the affiliates of the College of Arabic Language, including the academic staff members, male and female students, and male and female employees. The unit files the volunteering hours, starting from the first semester of the current academic year 1442 A.H., and submits an annual report to the dean showing its achievements and activities.

The unit is headed by Dr. Muhammad Salih Barnawi and has the following members:

  1. Dr. Osama Al-Jabarti, representative of the Department of Arabic Linguistics, Grammar, and Morphology.
  2. Dr. Hani Al-Sa`idi, representative of the Department of Classical Arabic Rhetoric and Literary Criticism.
  3. Mr Abdul-Wahhab Najmi, representative of the Department of Arabic Literature.
  4. Dr. Haifaa bint Othman Fida, Unit Supervisor (female section).
  5. Dr. Aishah Asiri, representative of the Department of Arabic Linguistics, Grammar, and Morphology (female section).
  6. Dr. Nidaa Thabit Al-Harthi, representative of the Department of Classical Arabic Rhetoric and Literary Criticism (female section).
  7. Ms Mona Muhammad Al-Muntashari, representative of the Department of Literature (female section).
