Umm Al-Qura University
The idea of organizing a forum for Umm Al-Qura University UQU faculty members came up to give a chance to all the different university groups to build effective relationships and discuss common issues concerning the faculty members’ work. The well-organized and designed-for-discussion atmosphere provided by the forum widens the work cycle of faculty members, and broadens the experience they gain; leading- in Allah’s will- to the enrichment of the university community and the development of educational process to keep up with the national transformation, and contribute to achieving the 2030 vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This program is important as one of the pillars of the quality system and a way to support and spread the culture of creativity and excellence; as the quality requires the creation of the appropriate environment for the faculty member and the development of their culture and skills, and help him to interact with their work environment.
One of the good practices proposed by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) to obtain institutional accreditation is the preparation of new faculty members to integrate into the university community. Hence, the faculty members forum’s program is an upgraded version of the new faculty members’ preparation program, which was held for five consecutive years; starting from the academic year (1434/1433 AH) until (1437/1438).
The preparation program was developed to be the faculty members forum so as to expand the target group of the program. The overall structure of the program has been changed to be consistent with the new objectives; increasing the interaction among faculty members, and ensuring optimal utilization of the program time.
