Organizing an Enrichment Course Entitled: “Computer Sciences and Job Prospects”

The Computer Club in the College of Computing in Al-Qunfudhah held an enrichment course entitled: "Computer Sciences and Job Prospects" on Saturday, 28 Sha`ban 1442 A.H., remotely via the WebEx application. The course was presented and prepared by Ms. Mona Al-Oufi.

The lecturer focused on the fact that specializations are needed in the Saudi labor market under the present vision of the future, “the Saudi Vision 2030”, and explained the labor laws and regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, Ms. Mona covered the most desired job roles and positions in every specialization, the national transformation program 2020, and the importance of enabling community members to enter the labor market. She also tackled the need to increase the attractiveness of the labor market as well as the job roles that are in the greatest demand in the communication and information sector. Moreover, she clarified the obstacles that hinder a person from entering the Saudi labor market.

Within the same vein, the presenter spoke about the skills that are in demand and explained the digital and personal skills besides the labor and future skills. She pointed out that in the 4th revolution, skills will be more important than the material capital. She also explained the required professional certificates and the digital capacity development initiatives in the kingdom.

On her part, the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Hanan Al-Ghamdi, expressed her thanks and appreciation to Ms. Mona Al-Oufi for presenting this enriching course.
