The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, inaugurated the Call to Allah Exhibition in Makkah on Sunday 29th JumadaI 1438H. The exhibition was organized by the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion from 29th JumadaI to 3rd JumadaII 1438H. 28 Islamic Call actors from the various Islamic Call and scientific sectors in Makkah participated in the exhibition, in the presence of Sheikh Ali Al-Abdali, General Manager of the Islamic Affairs Ministry Branch in Makkah, as well as UQU vice-presidents and deans.
On this occasion, the rhetorical ceremony was started with a Qur'anic recitation, followed by a speech by Sheikh Dr. Faisal Al-Ghazzawi, Dean of the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion and Imam of the Holy Mosque in Makkah. In his speech, Dr. Al-Ghazzawi highlighted the role of the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion as one of the Islamic Law colleges which aimed at spreading Islamic Law sciences, keeping Islamic tradition, achieving the right Islamic approach and qualifying Islamic preachers scientifically on the basis of Ahl as-Sunnah (the people of the sunnah and the community) approach. He added that the college's role was not limited to the benefit of UQU students, but beyond that, it included the provision of useful programs and meaningful activities that served the community and worked on its awareness and education. Moreover, he pointed out that this was the source of the idea of the Islamic Call exhibition as a cultural think tank participated into by Makkah official and charitable Islamic Call institutions and associations. Such participation aimed at benign purposes such as the exchange of experiences, achievement of partnerships, cooperation and competition in the call to the good, and care for the development of Islamic Call methods and means. In addition, Dr. Al-Ghazzawi extended deep thanks to UQU President for supporting and caring for the establishment of such exhibition, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sarhani (the former Dean of the College of Da'wa) for launching the idea of establishing such exhibition, and Dr. Isa Al-Musallami, Vice-Dean of the College, for supervising it. He also thanked the College's vice-deans, the Exhibition's Supervisory Committee members, the Quality Council and the participating Islamic Call actors. Afterwards, the attendees watched a visual presentation about the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion.
This was followed by a speech by of Sheikh Ali Al-Abdali, General Manager of the Islamic Affairs Ministry Branch in Makkah, to highlight the four advantages of the exhibition. First, the exhibition focused on the mission of the Prophets (i.e. call to Allah); second, it was established in Makkah where the Qur'an was revealed and the call to Allah, the Almighty, spread; third, it was organized at UQU, the pioneer of religion service and call to Allah; fourth, it was supervised by the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion which included professors, staff members and teachers that represented our Islamic preachers and imams. He extended deep thanks to UQU President for supporting and caring for the establishment of such exhibition, and to Sheikh Dr. Faisal Al-Ghazzawi (Dean of the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion) and the exhibition's staff for its success. Afterwards, the attendees watched a presentation about the participating actors.
Then, the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, gave a speech in which he mentioned the significance of establishing such exhibitions, as they play a great role in exchanging experiences among the participating actors and highlighting the Islamic Call means. He also commended the devoted academic elites and scholars at the College of Da'wa 'Islamic Call' and Fundamentals of Religion, who spared no effort to serve our Islamic Religion. In addition, he congratulated both Dr. Faisal Ghazzawi, Dean of the College, and the exhibition's staff for its establishment.
Dr. Assas honored after that the participating actors at the exhibition, toured it along with his companions and checked out the corners of its participating actors.
