Today, 15 Rajab, 1441 A.H., the ninth council of the Department of Physics was held in the meeting hall at Jamoum University College, at 10:00 a.m.

His Excellency the Chairman of the Department Council commenced the meeting by praising Allah and invoking peace and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad, and supplicating Allah to protect the Saudi Kingdom, its people, and its residents from this epidemic.

Council members also discussed developments in the educational process under the current circumstances.

The meeting resulted in the continuation of the educational process through e-learning using the Blackboard system, in compliance with the instructions of His Excellency the President of the University in this regard. Each faculty member is required to present his/her theoretical lectures to students through the e-learning system at the same time previously scheduled for them, and also open discussion forums for students at several different times to make up for office hours, in a way that ensures the educational process continues with sufficient quality.

The council emphasized that students should take regular exams in all courses on time using the Blackboard system. The general physics course tests 23061101-4 should be standardized for all the students of the course.

The council also discussed appropriate alternatives for practical lessons. It agreed that practical lessons should be explained through the e-learning system while providing experiments using the simulation system.

Male and female students should refer to the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education and the university official account to find out how to enter and use the system, and interact with the virtual classes. Male and female students are required to check their official email daily for new messages.

Each faculty member should submit a report to His Excellency the Chairman of the Department Council containing a summary of what they have performed in this regard, to ensure the follow-up of the educational process.

At the end of the session, His Excellency Dr. Hasan Sulaiman Ghafel Al-Sa`idi, Head of the Department Physics, presented a brief summary of the Blackboard system. Moreover, His Excellency distributed all the relevant videos available on the Deanship of E-Learning website to the members of the Council. He also called on all members to register in the Deanship of E-Learning courses, and urged their students to participate in the courses offered by the deanship.
