Al-Qunfudhah University College Holds Awareness Lecture on Coronavirus

Under the patronage and follow-up of His Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, and in collaboration with the College of Medicine and Department of Physical Education, the Vice Deanship of Students Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah held a cultural seminar entitled, "Precautionary Measures to Prevent the Novel Coronavirus", at the theater of Al-Qunfudhah University College. Dr. Hisham Ahmad Saeed, Professor of Sport Health Sciences at Al-Qunfudhah Department of Physical Education, began the seminar with an introduction on the history of the Coronavirus disease, and an explanation on how viral diseases in general and the Coronavirus in particular are transmitted to humans. He also pointed out to the importance of healthy nutrition in the prevention against the disease.

Moreover, Dr. Usamah bin Nabil Hafizh, Assistant Professor of Public Health, Preventive and Social Medicine at Al-Qunfudhah College of Medicine, made a presentation about the new Coronavirus disease, its outbreak in Wuhan city in China, and its spread to the world. He then shed light on the precautionary measures for protection against the disease, highlighting the importance of paying attention to hygiene and sterilization, and the role of immunization in fighting the disease.

The seminar was moderated by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Mathami, the Vice Dean of Students Affairs at Al-Qunfudhah.

At the end of the seminar, the Dean of the College honored the participants and stressed the importance of intensifying such crucial lectures which speak about the novel Cornoavirus, aiming to educate the university community in particular and other communities in general.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations and Media Department would like to extend sincere thanks to the lecturers for their good presentations designed to educate the attendees about the dangers of the Coronavirus disease.
