The College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah held the second training course on first aid for the current academic year for the Joint First Year students, medical stream, under the full patronage of the college administration, represented by His Excellency Dr. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah, and His Excellency Dr. Naif Al-Suhaimi, Vice Dean of the College.
The course was conducted at the Department of the Emergency Medical Services at the college on Monday, 21 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H.
The course was presented and supervised by His Excellency Prof. Ashraf Abdul-Azhim Uwais, His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Abdul-Aziz Al-Faqih, His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Jilan Al-Marhbi (Department of Emergency Medical Services), as well as Mr. Hamed Saad Al-Muntashiri and Mr. Awn Uthman Al-Shuqaifi from the internship section.
The topics in the course focused on what to do in emergencies, and how to provide emergency medical assistance. During the course, the volunteers were trained on how to deal with choking, nosebleeds, diabetes fainting, shock, and different types of burns, wounds, and fractures. The volunteers were also trained on how to open the airway and do cardiopulmonary resuscitation. A total of 25 joint first year students attended the course. The students participated actively and positively with the team of trainers.
At the end of the course, His Excellency Dr. Naif Abdullah Al-Suhaimi, Vice Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al Qunfudhah, thanked the students who were present. He also extended his special thanks and appreciation to the team of trainers from the college for their contribution to the awareness of the citizens, and for serving the community by offering health education in various fields.
