Under the auspices of the College of Education, and as part of the activities held by the Department of Islamic and Comparative Education, a meeting was held under the title “National Cohesion as Discussed by the Female Postgraduate Students" at the UQU headquarters in Al-Zahir.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Halah bint Sa`id Al-Amoudi, the Dean of University Studies for Girls, Dr. Khulud bint Saad Al-Yousef, the Vice Dean of University Studies for Girls for Educational Affairs and Development, Dr. Sumayyah bint Ezzat Sharaf, the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Research Volunteering and Voluntary Research, Dr. Abir bint Muhammad Al-Sabban, the Vice Dean of the College of Education, the vice deans of the college, heads of departments, academic staff, and postgraduate students.
A number of postgraduate students at the College of Education participated in the meeting, including Ms. Iman Al-Ahmadi from the Department of Islamic and Comparative Education, Ms. Reem Al-Mahiawi from the Department of Curricula and Instruction, Ms. Fatima Al-Suhaimi from the Department of Psychology, and Ms. Amal Al-Juhani from the Department of Educational Administration. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Wafaa bint Ahmad Al-Ghamdi, a faculty member at the Department of Islamic and Comparative Education.
The meeting opened with a speech from Dr. Sarah bint Halil Al-Mutairi, the Deputy Head of the Department of Comparative and Islamic Studies, in which she warmly welcomed the attendees. The events started with a discussion of a number of themes by students, including the concept and values of national cohesion, the implications of promoting these values, the role of postgraduate students in realizing them, and the most significant proposals to enhance national cohesion.
The meeting was held in tandem with a training course entitled “Civilizational Dialogue” delivered by Prof. Mona Al-Subai`i, the Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction.
Moreover, the meeting was accompanied by an exhibition of the achievements of the educational process during the reigns of a number of kings of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ghars (planting) Voluntary Team also participated with an introductory corner about the Deanship of Scientific Research and the activities of the team. In conclusion, the Dean of University Studies presented the certificates of appreciation and recognition to the participants during the meeting and the course, lauding the efforts exerted.
