College of Health Sciences Holds the Quarter Meeting for Students of the Internship Year for the Academic Year 1440/1441 A.H.

The College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah held its periodical meeting on Wednesday, 19 Muharram 1441 A.H., for the internship year students for the academic year 1440/1441 A.H., for them to follow up their training at hospitals. This meeting was held under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, and the direction of His Excellency the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Naif bin Abdullah Al-Suhaimi. It was attended by His Excellency the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Bandar bin Siraj Faqih, His Excellency the Head of Public Health, Dr. Murhaf bin Fuad Karni, Prof. Ashraf Uwais, and His Excellency the previous Vice Dean of the College for Hospitals and the current Coordinator of Internship Year Students Affairs, Mr. Husain Al-Ja`fari.

His Excellency Dr. Naif Al-Suhaimi started by welcoming the students, and urged them to pay great care to gain skills and to attend all the sessions. Next, His Excellency Mr. Husain Al-Jaaari offered a brief account on the follow-up results that the academic staff members had gathered while visiting hospitals to follow up on internship year students at their training locations. His Excellency Dr. Asharaf Uwais displayed the goals of the periodical meetings for the internship year students, and mentioned some of the problems that faced some trainees. He talked about some of the commendations that were sent to the college from some of the physicians in different hospitals concerning the performance of our students and their ability to learn basic skills in medical emergencies.

On his part, His Excellency Dr. Murhaf Karni tackled the importance of communication between the administration of the college and the internship year students. He displayed the problems that face them on an ongoing basis in order to find solutions for them or completely avoid them in the future.

His Excellency Dr. Bandar Faqiha stressed the necessity of being committed to work, avoiding absence, being keen on continuous education, and following-up new updates in the field of emergency medical services.

The students offered their requests to the college administration, and inquired about the arrangements of their training at hospitals. They also inquired about the process of transferring from one hospital to another and arranging a training period for them at the Saudi Red Crescent.
