This morning, Tuesday, 11 Muharram, 1441 A.H, at Al-Qunfudhah University College (female section), the events of the New Students Forum (Confident Start) were launched. The forum was organized by the Vice Deanship of Female Student Affairs under the support of the Deanship of Student Affairs, and in the presence of the vice deans of the college along with all the female academic staff. The forum witnessed an extensive participation from the female affiliates of the college, including the academic staff, the female employees, and the female students. The scientific departments, students clubs and the administrative offices prepared topics to introduce themselves, their activities and programs, and the services they offer to the female students. In addition, prizes presented by the Deanship of Student Affairs were awarded to all the female students.
The program began with a recitation of the Noble Qur'an, followed by the playing of the royal anthem. Dr. Nuwair Bajaber, the Vice Dean of the college, delivered a speech in which she welcomed the newcomer female students, delivering them important advice and direction for their university life, and expressed her thanks to the organizers of the forum.
Next, the Vice Dean of the Deanship of Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazmi, delivered a comprehensive speech in which she expressed her thanks to His Excellency UQU's President, His Excellency the Dean of Student Affairs, His Excellency the Dean of the College, and the employees of the college who participated in the organization of the forum, enabling it to be presented in such an impressive form. She pointed out that the aim of holding this forum was to prepare the newcomer female students for university life, and introduce them to the integrated services offered to the female students.
After this, two female students of the "Al-Kalim Al-Tayyib" team delivered some advice to their newcomer female colleagues based on their experience in university life. Then, the Vice Deanship of Female Student Affairs launched the project of the issuance of the electronic university card, which witnessed great participation by the newcomer female students. This was followed by a presentation given by Dr. Huwaida Sayed about the university regulations and laws as well as the rights and duties of the students to benefit the female students.
Finally, the Vice Dean of Educational Affairs gave a detailed explanation of the academic regulations, how to carry out academic activities through the female student's portal, the method of calculating the grade point average, and other academic aspects that are of interest to the female students.
At the end of the forum, the prizes dedicated for the females who registered on the portal were drawn, and the Deanship of Student Affairs presented mobile phones to the two students who won in the draw.
The first day was dedicated to the literary sections, and the second day to the scientific sections as well as the female students of the preparatory year. The forum witnessed an extensive attendance by the newcomer female students, who expressed their happiness with the forum.
