Under the directives of the Qunfudah University College Dean, Dr. Hashim Alsamadani, the orientation sessions of the fresh students were arranged in Qunfudah, under the auspices of the Student Affairs Vice Deanship at the female students’ section, and in cooperation of the academic departments. The orientation sessions took place at the theatre of the University College, from November 17th to November 25th, 2016. The University College Vice Dean, Dr. Nwair Bajabr attended the sessions.
The session got started with recitation out of the holy Quran. Shortly after, Dr. Nwair Bajabr, the University College vice dean, delivered a welcome and directive speech. In her speech, Dr. Nwair welcomed the fresh students and urged them to do their best for achieving distinction. She also thanked those who worked on making a success out of this session, and their interest in familiarizing with the latest about the College and her regulations. Then, Dr. Sheriefah Alhazimi, the Student Affairs Vice Dean, gave a speech in which she drew attention to the fact that the University has been keen to present the programs and orientation sessions for the fresh students and overcoming the obstacles facing them. Also, the University has been interested in familiarizing with the educational and service regulations and rules, and the university community in general. Likewise, she touched upon the Colleges’ activities and the clubs that the students can join for sharpening their skills and for filling their spare time with what can benefit them. She further prayed Allah, the Almighty, to support the students’ educational process, and to be an example for the university student that abides by the regulations and rules and enjoying values and Islamic teachings. She similarly called on them to hold to the University regulation during their educational life. She seized upon the occasion and highlighted the Excellence Award as a motivation for the students obtaining the excellence grade. She concluded her speech with extending thanks to the University President for his interest and ongoing support, and to the College’s female vice deans and its entire staff. By the same token, during her speech, she presented a detailed presentation including an orientation materials about all what is related to the Vice Presidency and its departments, regulations, jobs and services it provides for the students.
Afterwards, the deputy heads of the departments delivered speeches tackling the rules and regulations approved in the students’ rights and duties, issued by the Admission and Registration Deanship. They also highlighted the most important items stated in the manual, such as withdrawing or apologizing about a semester. Likewise, they provide the students with a window to the essentials of the academic guidance which clear the registration difficulties facing the students in each semester.
At the end of the session, entertainment segments and competitions were organized, followed by handing out presents and prizes to the fresh students.
