Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, His Excellency Dr. Yasin bin Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, and the sponsorship and support of the Vice-Dean of Student Affairs (Female Section) in Al-Qunfudhah, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazimi, several valuable scientific, cultural and artistic activities were undertaken. These activities began on Sunday, 17 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. Female students at the Educational Curricula Division launched a project entitled, 'Education According to the Vision of 2030' under the supervision of Dr. Safiah Al-Daqil. They introduced ideas and views for reform and development which will lead us, Allah willing, to achieve the vision of 2030.
There was another activity on Sunday, 17 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1440 A.H, by the Guidance and Direction Club at the College annex. Dr. Nabilah Al-Turki delivered a lecture in the prayer room entitled, 'Guiding Lights on the Way to the Exam', in which she offered some recommendations and advice to enable students to cope with the examination period, and help them to study and achieve success.
The Chemistry Club participated in these activities by holding a chemistry exhibition on Monday, 18 Rabi` Al-Awwal, at the College yard entitled, 'When Interaction Occurs, Life Starts ... Chemistry Enables us to Spend our Time Happily'. This activity was done under the auspices of Ms. Hana' Qiman and innovative female students at the Department.
On the same day, Dr. Sahar Al-Sa`di, of the Guidance and Direction Club, offered a course entitled, 'Offering Guidance to Families of Those of Special Needs'. Students at the Department of Family Education participated in this course. This course aimed at explaining ways of dealing with those of special needs, and of offering psychological support, advice and recommendations to help their families in this regard.
Ms. Mariam Al-Subhi then offered a course entitled, 'Renewable Energy in the Kingdom: New Horizon' on Wednesday, 20 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1440 A.H., at the English Department lab. This course aimed at opening new horizons before female students about alternative energy and the ways of making use of them. She supported this idea by offering presentations and brochures. The Education and Art Department continued its activities with a valuable lecture offered by Ms. Nada Al-Quzi for the students of the English Language Department.
The week was concluded with a distinguished exhibition by excellent students at the Mathematics Department, under the supervision of the Department members. The exhibition was entitled, 'Mathematics throughout the Ages'. It included a number of corners that narrated the culture of mathematics in the Greek, Egyptian, Chinese and European Civilizations that combined between mathematics and creative art.
