Conclusion of the Hackathon Syber Saber Competition with First Place for the Islamic University

The Black Fox's student team from the Islamic University, which is located in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, won the first place in the Cyber Saber Hackathon Competition, which lasted for two days in Riyadh. The cyber KAU team from King Abdul-Aziz University won the second place, the SEU1 team from the Saudi Electronic University won the third place, and ECH IAU team from Imam Abdul-Rahman bin Faisal University won the fourth place. This took place at the conclusion of the competition held last Wednesday, 7 November, 1440 AH.

The CEO of the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming, Ms. Nawf Al-Rakan, and the CEO of the Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Mr. Nasir Al-Nasir, honored the winners at the Cyber Saber Contest, which lasted for two days in Riyadh. This competition was organized by Virtuport in partnership with the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming and STC Business. The competition was attended by 36 teams, which included 153 students (53 males and 100 females) from the different national universities.

During this competition, an electronic arbitration mechanism was applied to evaluate the participating teams according to the points gained in the different stages of the competition challenges. The Cyber Saber Hackathon Competition is to be held later in Jeddah and Dammam. This is in order to fulfill one of the objectives of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones: exploring talents and providing an opportunity to other talents that found difficulty in participating in this competition.

On her part, the CEO of the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security, Programming and Drones, Nawf Al-Rakan, asserted that this competition attracted a large turnout, and revealed that the participants competed intensely with each other during the previous two days. She also added that the Cyber Saber Hackathon Competition explored talents through forums and contests in order to fulfill one of the aspirations of the Saudi Vision 2030: the exploration of talents and the development of potentials.
