Dr. Khaled Al-Marahby, the faculty member at Al-Qunfudhah Computer College and the Lecturer at the College of Computer Science, received the Charity Work Excellence Award in its third session. The award is given by Mohammed and Abdullah Ibrahim Al Subeaei Institution in the field of the outstanding creative idea for individuals titled "We Understand". The Award’s third session branches out to three fields: The first field is for the excellent charity institutions; the second is for the excellent charity projects; while the third is for the excellent creative ideas and is allocated for the individuals inside and outside the Kingdom. Total value the offered awards to the winners reached SAR 1.875 million.
Dr. Ayed Al-Emary, the Award’s CEO, said: The main objective of the award is to support the Kingdom’s leadership in the charity sector and achieve Vision 2030 through pleasing the society and achieve its prosperity, in addition to the contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP). He added that this will not be done except for adopting quality values and institutional excellence.
He noted that the award was managed with professionalism through following the methods of the similar global awards, in terms of presentation, office assessment, fields visits and arbitration by professional experts (both genders) in evaluating performance, quality and institutional excellence. The secretary general of the award approved the RADAR, which is the evaluation tool used in a number of global excellence awards, including European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) accredited model. Moreover, Eng. Amgad Al-Twaerash, noted that the number of charity institutions in the advancement phase reached 50, while the number of projects registered 31. The field of creative ideas recorded (118) advanced ideas from 14 nationalities.
Dr. Khaled Al-Marahby highlighted that the award he obtained was in the field of creative ideas, which was through arbitration of advanced projects and ideas submitted by a lot of researchers exceeded 100 researchers and participants from inside and outside the Kingdom. Marahby was one of the three winners. He explained the idea of the project saying: “We Understand” is a project that transfer the beneficiary to a modern and flexible method of learning. It depends on the interaction and live competition between beneficiaries. It is a creative platform for smart phones that aims at helping beneficiaries to contemplation in the Quran and living with it, through understanding the connotations and vocabulary of the holy Quran, as shown by the interpretation scientists in an interactive, interesting and facilitative way. This would be done through using the modernest techniques and the arbitrating scientific studies that are related to language learning. This platform is distinguished by high artificial intelligence in its main structure and its dependence on the educational module as a scientific methodology in learning. Dr. Marahby added that the human connection to the holy Quran and its understanding urge and call one to do the good and everthing possible, as said in the Quran: (يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ارْكَعُوا وَاسْجُدُوا وَاعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَافْعَلُوا الْخَيْرَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ). Investment in human education is the greatest investment known by the humanity and there is no science or word more honorable than God’s talk. Achieving this objective benefits people in general by goodness in their life and after life. He lauded the support of the College of Computer, represented by Dr. Jaber Saied Al-Zaharani, the Dean of the College of Computer, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Zaharani, the Vice Dean of the College.
