Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the effect of using Jigsaw strategy on the academic achievement of the home economics ccourse of the Designs College female students at Umm Al-Qura University. Experimental approach was used which based on the quasi-experimental design, the sample consisted of (60) fifth-level students in the Designs College, who were chosen intentionally during the first semester of the academic year (1440 AH / 1441 AH). They were distributed into two groups, control group (30) female students who studied in the usual way, and an experimental group (30) female student who studied using the Jigsaw strategy. To achieve the goal of the study, an achievement test (Pre and Post) prepared by the researcher was applied to the two groups. The findings of the study were: there are statistically significant differences at the level (α = 0.001) between the two groups in the posttest for each of the following levels (remembering, understanding, and application), and in favor of the experimental group, who was studied using the Jigsaw strategy. The size of the experimental effect between. The two groups using Eta square (h2) was (0.86), which considered a size with a significant effect according to the rule adopted by the researcher
