The Department aims at:

1. Graduating physicians and labs specialists who are highly qualified and efficient in diagnosing parasites, parasitic diseases, and their carriers.
2. Defining all types of parasites all over the world, especially the ones that come to Makkah with the pilgrims and visitors of the Sacred City throughout the year.
3. Discovering parasites in general, finding out ways of diagnosing the diseases that are caused by parasites, and being acquainted with all the epidemic information surrounding the disease that may help the prevention and elimination of rampant parasitic diseases.
4. Conducting field research that provide the surrounding environment with information about the parasitic diseases, and subjecting the results for investigation and examination with a view to searching for remedies.
5. Cooperating with the relevant foreign institutions and universities to develop and improve teaching and scientific research outputs.
6. Establishing a scientific society or association specialized in the field of medical parasitology.
7. Providing training courses that contribute to raising the professional level of workers in the health sectors.
