Journal of Umm Al-Qura University for Medical Sciences (JUQUMS) published and distributed by Umm Al-Qura University. JUQUMS is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year and includes articles covering all areas of medical science research. The journal allows free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive the final accepted version of the articles on any Open Archives Initiative (OAI) compliant institutional/subject-based repository. The target readers of the Journal include all medical and health professionals in the health cluster, such as in medicine, applied medical sciences, dentistry, nursing, clinical nutrition, pharmacology, public health, etc.
The journal's scope is to publish research that will interest health specialties in academic and clinical practice. In addition, the journal aims to facilitate the development of high-quality research, education, and health services. Contributions reporting original research that demonstrate pertinence to medical investigation are encouraged and could be published as Original Articles, Review Articles, Short Communications, and Case Reports. The journal seeks to include new insights into the basic medical sciences; improve the accessibility of evidence for best general medical practice and advance clinical research; illuminate new perspectives in medicine and health practices that include associated ethical, cultural, and social issues.
The Journal of Umm Al-Qura University (JUQU) is committed to following the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). JUQU takes the responsibility of enforcing a rigorous peer review, with strict ethical policies and standards to ensure to add of high-quality scientific works to the field of scholarly publication. Unfortunately, cases of plagiarism, data falsification, improper authorship credit, and the like do emerge. JUQU takes such publishing ethics issues very seriously, and our editors are well acquainted with dealing with such cases with a zero-tolerance policy. To verify the originality of content submitted to our journals, we use iThenticate to check submissions against previous publications.
JUQUMS is an open-access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC), which allows others to remix, adapt, and build upon your work non-commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge you and be non-commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms.
Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and could be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. JUQUMS has a policy that changes will not be made after the publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
