1st Meeting of Student Advisory Council, Qunfudhah Health Sciences

The first meeting of the Student Advisory Council for the Qunfudhah College of Health Sciences was held on Tuesday, 29th Jumada II 1438H (28TH March 2017). It was attended by Dr. Ahmad bin Muhammad Al-Eisa (Chairman of the Council), Dr. Saied binSalih Al-Buhairi (Member of the Council and Vice-Dean of the College), in addition to the members of the Advisory Council who were ten students from various levels named according to a previously-announced nomination and designation mechanism.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by the Dean, in which he clarified his interest in the Council's achievement of the objectives it was formed for, including:

  1.  Communication between the College and its students, which assists in improving academic, educational and service process at the College.
  2.  Touching the views of students about the academic and extra-curricular activities and services presented to them within the College.
  3.  Counseling and giving advice to the College Dean in the domains of interest to students.
  4.  Cooperation to render the College the perfect place to receive knowledge, to uphold ideals and morals, and keep harmony among all affiliates.
  5.  Linking students to the College and its activities.
  6. Rooting the concept of positive engagement of stakeholders in the educational process. 
  7. Identifying problems and obstacles facing the students and discussing them in accordance with the priorities of their effect on their study and educational environment. 
  8. Determination of the views, interests and wishes of students and development of solutions to achieve them.
  9. Educate students about their rights and duties in accordance with the regulations of the University and to preserve its achievements and high status, while taking advantage of the students’ positive proposals.

The agenda of the meeting was reviewed by the Vice-Dean. Student/ Muhammad Abdulaziz Al-Faqih was nominated Secretary, while Student/ Ibrahim Hussein Al-Faqih was nominated Coordinator. Then, student members participated in the meeting. They expressed their pride of such membership and their keenness to activate their roles for the benefit of improving the academic, educational, service and volunteer-work activities offered at the College.

This was followed by a summary of the meeting by Prof. Said Al-Ghamdi, Secretary of the Council, then a finalization by the Dean of the College.
