College of Business Administration Dean Meets College Students

Driven by the belief in importance of effective communication, the College of Business Administration organized a meeting between the College Dean, Dr. Sultan bin Ayed Al-Baqmi and the female students of the College on Monday, 7/6/1438 Hijri, 6/3/2017. The meeting was held in the ceremony hall in the Ray Zakhir campus, and was attended by the faculty staff, employees and students, and was under the supervision of the College Vice Dean for girls branch, Dr Suzan bint Abdul-Qader Wazzan.

The Dean, Dr. Baqmi, discussed a number of issues and expressed his interest in keeping open communication channels with the students to listen to their suggestions and ideas. Among the main ideas covered in the meeting were the strategic plan of the College in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the College pursuit to get academic accreditation and fulfill the high quality criteria and students’ role in this. He also encouraged students to give more attention to attending seminars and taking part in student activities, on top of which the 8th Students Meeting. Dr. Baqmi also discussed some changes that will be implemented on the preparatory year, regarding material and the number of hours. He also discussed the ongoing efforts for launching the Accounting Department in the girls division of the College.

Dr. Suzan Wazzan, the College Vice Dean (girls division) made a speech in which she welcomed the attendees and expressed her pleasure with holding this meeting that connects students to the College and seeks solving their problems and answering their questions.

Then Dr. Ahmed bin Abdel-Qader Al-Qarani, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, gave a speech in which he discussed some aspects of the academic process and the most important sources for students support in the College, such as the Alumni Unit and Activities Unit. Dr Al-Qarani also referred to the important role played by the Students’ Support Unit in helping and encouraging successful students and supporting the at-risk students.

The meeting also included speeches by the Deputy Head of Business Administration Department, Dr. Hanaa Jazaa Al-Otaiby, Deputy Head of Marketing Department, Mrs. Manal Saeed Al-Shahry, Deputy Head of Hotel and Tourism Department, Mrs. Samaher Mohammed Al-Jodaiby, and the Marketing Department Head, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Falata. The speakers confirmed that their main priority is students and that they are always ready to answer their questions and attend to any problem that might face them.

The meeting also included a time dedicated for answering the questions of students on different topics. The Dean welcomed the queries and ideas offered by students that included intensified English courses, carrying out field visits to commercial and industrial institutions and some queries about the internal and external scholarships as well as questions related to the College buildings and facilities and what will be developed over the coming years.
