Under the auspices and support of His Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, and the directives and supervision of the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazimi, a number of events and initiatives have been implemented during the period of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. These initiatives and activities, which are varied, include video presentations; flyers to spread health awareness, awareness behavior, health and precautionary tips, and advice; psychological e-counseling; and charity activities. This is to spread the culture of dealing with the current crisis and emerging from it safely, Allah willing.
In turn, the media coordinator at the Media Center of Al-Qunfudah University College, Ms. Laila Al-Sheikhi, in view of the role and mission of Umm Al-Qura University and in conjunction with the developments in the rapid spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), confirmed that the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, is keen on educating the male and female students, UQU employees and staff members, and administrative staff, and on keeping them informed about all the new developments on the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). His Excellency is also keen on following up the activation of the educational and awareness role, preventive and qualitative plans, initiatives pertaining to scientific research, and distance training programs to explain the dangers of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the preventive methods and to limit its spread. Moreover, Prof. Bafail has been checking efforts, locally, regionally and internationally, made in this respect, in the context of restraining its spread and reducing its repercussions by taking the best measures.
