The Vice Deanship for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Al-Qunfudhah University College, opened the first scientific forum entitled "Strategies for University Teaching: Reality and Aspirations" at the Female Section, under the patronage of His Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi. The event took place on Sunday, 6 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 1 March, 2020 A.C., at the Female Section.
The inaugural session began with the royal anthem, then recitation of verses of the Qur'an. This was followed by a speech by His Excellency the Dean of the College, who affirmed that this forum "is a remarkable imprint of the Vice Deanship for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Al-Qunfudhah University College, and a scientific phenomenon of which we are proud." His Excellency expressed his hope that this forum will be "the first fruits of subsequent scientific meetings and forums on the path of building regular academic rules similar to that which the mother university and other universities have."
At the end of his speech, he extended his deep thanks to His Excellency the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Yahya bin Muzhir Al-Zahrani, the College Vice Dean, the general supervisor of the forum, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazimi, the Vice Deanship Academic Coordinator and Rapporteur of the Preparatory Committee for the Forum, Dr. Firyal Al-`Ali, all the committees working in the forum, and the female participants and attendees from the faculty and its female staff.
His Excellency the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Yahya bin Muzhir Al-Zahrani ,thanked and express his appreciation for His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, for his efforts to serve the college and its affiliates, and his support for scientific advancement. He also thanked His Excellency the Dean of the College for his continuous support for the activities of the Vice Deanship and scientific research, expressing appreciation for the efforts of all the organizers of the forum in the Female Section, and praising the remarkable scientific activity during this academic year.
The inaugural session concluded with a speech by His Excellency the Vice Dean and general supervisor of the forum, Dr. Sharifah bint Eissa Al-Hazimi, who welcomed all the attendees from the faculty staff and female guests representing the public education sector in Al-Qunfudhah Governorate. She stressed that this forum is "a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and perspectives," and expressed the hope that "the effects of holding this forum will be reflected in the development of teaching strategies, whether at the college level or in public education."
At the end of her speech, she thanked the dean of the college for his generous patronage of the forum. She also thanked His Excellency the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research for his efforts to advance scientific research in the Female Section, the Vice Deanship Academic Coordinator, all the committees working for the success of this forum in terms of planning, organizing, and implementing it, all paper contributors, and the audience in general.
The forum held its first session on Sunday 6 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 1 March, 2020 A.C., in the Female Section. Dr. Yahya bin Muzhir Al-Zahrani, Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Associate Professor in the Department of Education and Psychology, participated in the opening session, which was chaired by Her Excellency the College Vice Dean and General Supervisor of the Forum, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazimi. He submitted a paper entitled "Modern Teaching Trends: Strategies and Models." Dr. Huwaida Mahmoud Sayyed, Associate Professor, Department of Education and Psychology, also participated with a paper entitled "The Integration of Mobile Learning in Teaching Mathematics from the Viewpoint and Direction of Female Students."
Her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Nawal Al-Hazimi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Biology Branch, presented a paper entitled "Biology Learning Strategy." The session concluded with a paper entitled "The Effectiveness of a Training Program to Acquire some Clothing Implementation Skills for Second Year Students in the Home Economics Department," presented by Dr. Zainab Al-Sibai, Assistant Professor in the Family Education Department.
