College of Business Administration Launches a Series of Workshops on Scientific Research Methodologies and External Scholarships

The UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi, launched a series of scientific workshops organized by the College of Business Administration under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Prof. Ihsan Al-Muataz.

In his speech, the UQU Vice President stressed the keenness of the university, under the directives of the UQU President, in holding such activities which aim at boosting the research and academic capabilities of the university affiliates, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, His Excellency directed the continuation of such activities as an integral part of the missions of the scientific colleges. He also extended his thanks to the College of Business Administration for the initiative and for organizing such scientific workshops.

After that, the first workshop started, which was moderated by Dr. Faisal Al-Ruqi, the Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, and presented by Prof. Khalid Al-Husaini, Professor at the University of Portsmouth in UK, who is also a supervisor of scientific research and an accredited external examiner and an accredited external examiner. The workshop was entitled: "The Scientific Basics of Writing Successful Research Plans".

In the workshop, Prof. Khalid Al-Husaini spoke on how to select the proper research topic, according to the researcher's inclinations and abilities and within the rules and regulations of the university. He also gave many tips on selecting a modern scientific topic.

He clarified the elements that have to be present in the proper research plan, and outlined some common mistakes in choosing and drafting the research topic as well as mistakes in other research contents.

He indicated that student should be a leader in the field of his research, and that the topic must be in one of his interests and passions for him to give his best effort, time and knowledge.

Wrapping up the workshop, the inquiries and comments of the male and female students and academic staff were answered.
