The College of Community Service and Continuing Education Launches the ‘Empowering Women via Career Excellence’ Program

The Training Department at the College of Community Service and Continuing Education at Al-Zahir campus (female section), on Sunday, 8 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., launched the Training Program for the second semester of the year 1441 A.H., entitled, ( "Empowering Women via Career Excellence". The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency the Acting Dean of University Studies, Dr. Samira Ahmad Al-Fifi, on behalf of Her Excellency the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Omar Al-Khuli. The event was also attended by a number of vice deans of colleges and centers at the university, as well as a number of female trainers in the program.

The ceremony started with a recitation of the Noble Qur'an, The program was then introduced to all female employees working in all sectors of the governmental and civil society of Makkah, girls looking for work opportunities, and university graduates and employees. The Vice Dean of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Zainab bint Muhammad Al-Khidr Al-Qadi, then gave a speech in which she elucidated the persistent endeavors of the college to fulfill its mission in serving the community.

On the other hand, Her Excellency the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Faiza Muhammad Al-Harbi, shed light in her speech on the participation of women and their empowerment, which is nowadays evident in the comprehensive development the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing in various educational and economic fields. It is aimed, she continued, to mandate women for a more preponderant role in building society, supporting its cohesion, and drawing a bright image of its future. She then thanked the great efforts made by the university administration led by His Excellency the President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail.

Dr, Faiza also touched on the role of the College of Community Service and Continuing Education in providing high-quality training and educational programs that meet the needs of society and the requirements of the labor market, thanks to the support of His Excellency the UQU Assistant Vice President for Development and Dean of the College, Prof. Khaled bin Youssef Barqawi. In this respect, the efforts of the Training Department, headed by His Excellency Prof. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Freih, have been evidently shining. Likewise, the former Deputy Head of the Department, Dr. Nadia Al-Andijani, exerted praiseworthy efforts in providing the training program( entitled, "Empowering Women via Career Excellence", which is based on skills required by the labor market, including: computer skills, languages, administrative development and health education, in addition to soft skills.

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the Deputy Head of the Training Department, Dr. Nadia Al-Andijani, was honored on the occasion of the end of her mandate in the department, wishing her much success and progress.
