On Monday evening, 19 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., the UQU President’s Futsal Championship, organized by the University College Club of the Deanship of Students Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education, concluded after witnessing competitions between the college and departments of the university branch in Al-Qunfudhah. The final match was between the team of the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Mathematics.

The match took place under the auspices of His Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, in the presence of the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad bin Mar`i Al-Hazmi, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Mathami, the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Yahia Al-Nashiri, the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Yahia Mizhar Al-Zahrani, the Vice Dean of the College for Community Service, Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al-Eissa, the Supervisor of the Affiliation Program, Dr. Taha bin Mansour Khawaji, and a number of the heads of the department, academic staff members, and students of the college. The event was attended by a large audience.

At the beginning of the event, the final match of the championship cup was launched by one of the sons of the martyrs of the southern borderline, Faris bin Ali Balghaith Al-Sayed. A friendly game was first held between the academic staff members in the teams of the friends of Dr. Hakim Uthman and the friends of Dr. Khalid Farid. The friends of Dr. Khalid Farid won the match.

After that, the final match was played, and the team of the Department of Physical Education won the championship cup and the gold medal, after beating the team of the Department of Mathematics (2-5).

The final match was accompanied by laser shows and electric fountains provided by the official sponsor of the final match, “The Eventique World Group”, which added an aesthetic touch to the occasion and gained the satisfaction of the audience.
