Within the framework of the existed cooperation and partnership between the College of Arabic Language and Literature (Department of Arabic Linguistics, Grammar and Morphology) at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) and Makkah Educational Administration, and in sponsorship with Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Qarni (Dean of the College) and Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Al-Daghriri (Head of the Department of Arabic Linguistics, Grammar and Morphology), the Second Training Program titled, “Spelling and Writing Skills of Primary School Teachers” was executed, thanks to Allah. The program was active from 27th Safar till 28th Rabi’I 1438H at the College’s Celebration Hall.  It also included a number of significant topics such as medial and alone hamza, hamzat al-waṣl (a non-phonemic glottal stop produced automatically at the beginning of an utterance) and hamzat al-qaṭ‘(a phonemic glottal stop), numbering in Arabic language, sun and moon letters, open and closed Taa, and limited/restricted alif.  

The execution of the successful program sessions were participated into by Prof. Dr. Ali Ibrahim Muhammad, Dr. Mansour Abo Shahbah, Dr. Hamdi Abdulfattah Badran and Dr. Nasser Abdurrahim Al-Jundi.  

The sessions were characterized by effective interventions and discussions among trainees on the one hand, and between trainees and trainers on the other. This had a great influence on everyone.

The program was honored on its final day with the presence of Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Qarni (Dean of the College), Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Al-Daghriri (Head of the Department of Arabic Linguistics, Grammar and Morphology), and a group of UQU staff members. The representative of Makkah Educational Administration was Prof. Salih Al-Zahrany (College Inspector); he expressed his pleasure with such community partnership and efforts exerted by both Dr. Abdulhameed Hamdi Al-Muqaddem and Dr. Aykam Mar’I Al-Omari (Program Coordinators), while he called for continuity of such training programs.
