Umm Al-Qura University
The honoring ceremony of 1420 outstanding male and female students of the colleges in the branch of the university in Al-Qunfudhah was attended by His Excellency the Governor of Al-Qunfudhah, Mr. Fada Al-Buqami; His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail; UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi; His Excellency the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghith, the deans of the colleges of Al-Qunfudhah branch and their employees, and a number of officials from government departments.
The supervisor of the ceremony, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mutehami, stated that the Deanship of Student Affairs has been supportive of students, providing many services and features, especially the outstanding ones. This includes offering awards of excellence to the students who have achieved excellent grades in two consecutive semesters.
The Vice Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazmi, described the ceremony as 'a joyful meeting'. Moreover, Dr. Yahya Al-Zahrani recited a poem during the ceremony, entitled: "Our Youth Is Our Hope".
In a recorded speech, the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Prof. Omar Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, expressed his happiness in honoring the outstanding students, wishing them success. He also thanked His Excellency the UQU President for enduring the hardships of the travelling for the sake of honoring the outstanding students of the colleges of the UQU branch in Al-Qunfudhah.
The students Mudhish Al-Faqih and Fatimah Al-Umari spoke on behalf of the outstanding students, expressing their feelings of gratitude for the way the university administration honored the outstanding students.

They first thanked Allah and then expressed their gratitude to the Dean of Al-Qunfudha University College, Prof. Omar Abdullah Al-Hazzai, who is credited with holding the honoring ceremony for them.
His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, congratulated the male and female students for their distinction. He stressed that the University of Umm Al-Qura, by Allah's grace and then thanks to the generous support of the wise leadership, has been able to expand its educational programs and to establish branches in four governorates in the region, in addition to its headquarters in Makkah, with the University College in the province of Al-Qunfudhah being in the forefront. So far, five colleges have emerged as offshoots of this college, with more than 14,000 students in the different departments of the University College, the College of Engineering, the College of Computing, the College of Health Sciences, in addition to the College of Medicine.
His Excellency praised the support and interest of the Counselor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Governor of Makkah Prince Khalid Al-Faisal; and His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan (may Allah protect them both), who are keen to provide the best learning environment. He commended the support and backing of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh, of the university headquarters and branches.
His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, gave orders to establish a student fund for the colleges of the university branch in Al-Qunfudhah to support student services and activities. He stressed his keenness to develop educational facilities and services to improve the university's outputs.
This event concluded by honoring these exceptional students and the sponsor of this wonderful ceremony. Finally, photos were taken of the outstanding students and His Excellency the UQU President, who shared the joy with them.
